Some things you may want to keep in mind when designing a character to roleplay with. - Species - This could be anything from a timber wolf to some extinct species of cat to a hybrid you came up with yourself.
- Physical Health - Is your character strong and healthy? Sick? Injured? Why is it sick or injured?
- Mental Health - If your character has some quirk or mental problem, why? What happened in the past to cause this?
- Defining Features - Usually related to species. Things like horns, spikes, unusual tails or fur, etc.
- Accessories - Since there are no creatures in Sleepy Hollow with opposable thumbs, you better have a really good explanation for that collar/bandanna.
- Personality Basics - Is your character friendly? Bitter? Angry? Hyper?
- Personality History - If your character is sad and lonely, why? If they get nervous when in big groups, why? The more complex, the better.
- Dialogue - Does your character prefer to ramble effusively or keep it simple? Do they speak with a slow drawl or chirp anxiously? Why?
- Family - If your character is related to pre-existing characters, what features do they have in common? Do they get along? How are they different?
- Appearance - What does your character's first expression tell people? Do the colors and features relate to their personality? Does it have an scars or battle wounds? Note that while defining features generally do not change, appearance can change quite often.
